Research lanes & cost
Instant vs. free overnight — when to use which.
Every research task in Diurno HQ — company workups, enrichment answers, outreach drafts, people checks — runs on one of two lanes. Same rules, same quality bar; different speed and cost.

| Instant | Runs within about a minute using the metered research provider. Costs cents per item. For anything you need before your next call. |
| Free overnight | Held for the subscription research agent, which works through the backlog nightly at no per-item cost. For bulk work: imports, whole-column questions, big outreach batches, routine people checks. |
Where you pick the lane
- CSV import — when research is enabled.
- Enrichment Grid — every column-run menu.
- Batch outreach — in the dialog.
- Verify people — on the button's menu.
Managing the free lane
- Waiting jobs show as Free lane on the Research screen.
- Changed your mind? Press ▶ on any held job to promote it to the instant lane now, or 🗑 to remove it.
- The overnight agent runs nightly on its own; results and alerts are waiting in the morning.
A sane default
Top-20 accounts and pre-call refreshes on instant; everything at volume on free overnight. Every plan includes a monthly instant allowance (see Plans & pricing), and anything past it simply drops to the free overnight lane — so most teams never think about it.
