The daily agent & overnight research

What runs on its own every day — and what the free overnight lane does.

Diurno HQ works while you don't. Two things run on their own: the daily agent (housekeeping and re-scoring) and the free overnight research agent (works through everything you queued on the free lane).

What the daily agent does

  • Processes anything waiting in the research queue.
  • Refreshes accounts whose research has gone stale.
  • Re-scores everything with time decay — old evidence gently fades, so scores stay honest without anyone touching them.
  • Queues people checks for accounts not checked in 14 days (top scores first).
  • Pre-builds today's Daily Brief for every workspace, so the morning list is waiting.
  • Sends the Daily Brief email digest — one email per organization per morning, only to teammates who have it on (Settings → Team), and only when there's something to contact.
  • Runs the sequence engine: every enrollment whose next step has come due sends, advances, or stops (reply detected, unsubscribed, account became a customer) — with the reason recorded.
  • Raises alerts for anything noteworthy it did.

The free overnight research agent

Everything you queue on the free lane — imports, enrichment columns, outreach batches, people checks — is picked up by a subscription-powered research agent that runs nightly (and can be fired on demand). It does the same quality of sourced research as the instant lane; it just doesn't bill per item. Jobs waiting for it show as Free lane on the Research screen, where ▶ promotes any of them to instant if you can't wait.

Same honesty, either lane

Both lanes follow identical rules: every fact needs a source, ambiguity fails honestly, and unsourced claims score zero. The lane only changes when and what it costs — never the standard. More: Research lanes & cost.
